Not all disputes need to end up in court. We have vast experience in arbitration – a practical and cost-effective alternative method of settling a wide range of civil and commercial disagreements. Arbitration offers privacy, since proceedings and decisions are kept confidential, as well as greater flexibility and less formality.
Our arbitration team is led by Senior Partner Colin Cohen, whose proficiency in this field has seen him admitted as a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and as a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Law Society of Hong Kong. Crucially, Hong Kong is widely recognised as an international centre for arbitration and the process is strongly supported by the courts.
We are well versed in other methods of settling disputes including mediation, in which parties work towards an agreement, and negotiation. With our guidance, we help clients reach mutually satisfactory outcomes which offer more chance of compliance and better preserve relationships.
