Overview

With dual admissions as an Advokat in his native Sweden and as a Solicitor in Hong Kong, Kristian straddles the civil-common law divide. Kristian has vast experience in corporate and commercial law, having advised numerous European clients on matters related to trade and investment in Hong Kong and mainland China. He spent several years in investment banking early in his career, and has a deep understanding of corporate finance and valuation issues.

In recent years, Kristian has increasingly focused on the “compliance dilemmas” companies face as they seek to abide by sometimes conflicting laws enacted by different jurisdictions in areas such as data compliance, cyber security, and supply chain transparency. He also takes an interest in export control and foreign investment screening.

Kristian is a non-executive director on the boards of several companies and organisations in Hong Kong. He has served as chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong since 2017. Having studied Chinese while at law school, he originally relocated to Hong Kong in 1998 with a leading Swedish law firm.
