Overview

Pádraig is admitted as a German Rechtsanwalt as well as an English Solicitor. Through his various positions with major international law firms and in-house roles in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Singapore and Hong Kong he has in-depth experience in investment funds, asset management, international commercial transactions and corporate law as well as tax structuring, succession and estate planning, trusts and foundations.

Originally from Germany, Pádraig read German and English law at the University of Passau (Germany), King’s College London and Senate House, London, with a focus on taxation law and was research assistant for international law at St Anne’s College, Oxford.

He started his career with major international law firms in Frankfurt, specialising in capital markets regulatory law and tax structuring before transitioning into an in-house role with an established investment management company based in Singapore. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2013, initially joining the business world by establishing a precious metals trading house, before joining BC&C as a Foreign Legal Consultant in 2021.

Besides his legal practice, Pádraig collected hands on experience as a fully licensed responsible officer in Hong Kong with an unrestricted type 4 (advising on securities) and type 9 (asset management) licence for over six years. He also serves on a number of advisory boards of ground-breaking fintech companies as well as being president of the Irish Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong.
