HKU seminar examines career development

Hong Kong, 25 November 2024: Our Consultant John Zhou was pleased to be a panellist in a careers seminar for law students at the University of Hong Kong, offering his perspective as a lawyer qualified to practice in three jurisdictions.

John joined legal professionals from Mainland and international law firms in speaking at the gathering, which was organised by the Law Society of Hong Kong’s Committee for Members with Mainland Background.

“The rapid development of the Greater Bay Area is spurring increasing levels of cross-border legal co-operation, which means there are growing opportunities for ambitious young practitioners who have the background, qualifications and skills to work either side of the border or, indeed, overseas,” says John.

“The seminar was an excellent opportunity for the HKU students to learn more about the options open to them and to interact with experienced legal professionals who can provide advice and guidance. My thanks go to the Law Society and my fellow panellists for ensuring the success of this event.”

John, who joined BC&C in 2023, is admitted to practice law in Hong Kong, the Mainland and the New York State. He has dedicated his career to cross-border dispute resolution and has vast experience in complex commercial arbitration, litigation and compliance matters.
