Dragons bat on with renewed support

Hong Kong, 14 October 2022: Boase Cohen & Collins and Somerley Capital Holdings Limited are delighted to extend their sponsorship of Hong Kong’s all-Chinese development team, the CHK Dragons, for a further two years. Having commenced their support in 2019, the firms will continue to provide backing until the end of the 2023-24 season.

The agreement is once again a joint initiative from award-winning independent law firm BC&C and Somerley, one of the most active financial advisory groups in Hong Kong. The Dragons will continue to display BC&C and Somerley’s logos on their shirts and players will support the firms with guest appearances at corporate events.

“We have enjoyed a successful association with the Dragons these past three years and are pleased to be maintaining our support. A successful Dragons team is key to taking cricket forward in Hong Kong and broadening its appeal,” says BC&C Senior Partner Colin Cohen.

Martin Sabine, Chairman of Somerley and a former Hong Kong national team player, adds: “We are long-time supporters of cricket here and appreciate the great work being done by Cricket Hong Kong to develop the game at grassroots level. As such, we are delighted to extend our sponsorship of the Dragons and we wish them well over the next two seasons.”

The Dragons play in the Sunday Elite League, a round-robin 50-over competition. They compete in Division Two against DLSW Knights, SLCC Lions, USRC Vagabonds, HKCC Optimists and KCC Infidels. Their next match is against Optimists at Hong Kong Cricket Club on 23 October.

In welcoming the agreement, Cricket Hong Kong Chairperson Burji Shroff says: “Like many sporting organisations, we rely on sponsorship from the business world to help us build the game and raise standards. We are grateful to Somerley Capital Holdings Limited and Boase Cohen & Collins for their investment. The CHK Dragons are essential for spreading cricket’s popularity and will surely benefit from this continuing support.”
