Trainee trio join BC&C’s legal team

Hong Kong, 30 September 2022: We are delighted to welcome to the firm three new Trainee Solicitors – Cherie Kwan, Anne Young and Emily Kwan – maintaining our proud tradition of nurturing homegrown legal professionals.

“At Boase Cohen & Collins, we have a track record of promoting local talent and providing young lawyers with a clear career path. Nearly half our current Partners began their career with us, as did the vast majority of our Senior Associates and Associates,” says Senior Partner Colin Cohen.

“Cherie, Anne and Emily bring with them not only strong academic backgrounds but also outstanding communication skills and commitment to excellence. We are delighted to have them on board and we are confident they are each embarking on a long and productive career in the legal profession.”

Cherie (pictured left) earned her law degree from the University of Hong Kong and remained there to receive her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in 2020. She joins BC&C after completing part of her legal training in-house at a global corporation. During her studies, she gained internship experience at two law firms in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai, and undertook mini-pupilages at two Hong Kong barristers’ chambers.

Anne (centre) completed her law degree at the City University of Hong Kong where she was a two-time Dean List awardee. Her extracurricular activities included participating in various forums, research initiatives and mooting, while she also served as Secretary General of the Asian Law Student Association Hong Kong National Chapter. During her studies she gained internship experience at a number of law firms in Hong Kong and one in Beijing. She remained at the City University to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws.

Prior to joining BC&C, Emily was a Court Liaison Officer under the Convention against Torture and Non-refoulement Claims Scheme at the Duty Lawyer Service. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of Hong Kong. Guided by her aspiration to become a lawyer, she gained her law degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK last year and returned to the University of Hong Kong for her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws.
