Bali gathering enhances regional ties

Hong Kong, 3 December 2025: Our Managing Partner Alex Liu and Consultant John Zhou were pleased to meet Ally Law colleagues old and new at the Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Bali, Indonesia.

The gathering featured networking sessions and panel discussions that examined a range of topics relevant to law firms, including how mid-size firms must innovate to combat the notion of “bigger is better”, the increasing use of artificial intelligence in the legal sector and the challenges of tariff turbulence across the region.

“Asia Pacific continues to be a fast-evolving and dynamic region playing a key role in the expansion of Ally Law. The regional meeting is therefore vital in helping firms maintain close relationships and enhance co-operation,” says Alex, who took part in a panel session focusing on how firms collaborate when fulfilling the international business needs of a mutual client.

The keynote speech was given by Taufiq Arfi Wargadalam, a senior executive with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, the world’s largest free trade agreement which has been signed by 15 countries, including China.

The Bali event – hosted by Indonesian member firm Nusantara Legal Partnership – was Ally Law’s final regional gathering of the year following the Americas meeting in Costa Rica and the Europe, Middle East and Africa conference in Latvia. The organisation will hold its AGM in Dublin next May.

Ally Law comprises some 80 independent law firms with 2,800-plus professionals. It provides comprehensive legal services to major corporations worldwide and helps clients overcome their international business challenges. BC&C is the sole member representing Hong Kong.
