Shenzhen expo offers legal opportunities

Hong Kong, 7 September 2026: Our Managing Partner Alex Liu led a BC&C delegation to the recent Shenzhen Legal Services Exposition, taking the opportunity to highlight our firm’s capabilities and to network with other legal professionals, Mainland institutions and sector stakeholders.

The two-day event, themed “Legal Services Integrating with Manufacturing, Rule of Law Linking the Globe”, attracted hundreds of attendees from the Greater Bay Area and beyond. It was divided into five sections: a legal services exhibition, practitioner exchanges, themed events, services for citizens and talent recruitment.

“It was a worthwhile visit that allowed us to build relationships, speak with like-minded professionals and enhance our cross-border expertise. It also allowed us to stay informed about the latest industry developments,” says Alex, who was joined on the trip by BC&C Partner John Zhou and Trainee Solicitors Hannah Liu, Gillian Choi and Luzia Liu.

“A regular theme running throughout the expo was artificial intelligence and how it is impacting the legal profession. Some of the discussions on this topic were truly informative. As well, from our side, we were able to highlight Hong Kong’s strengths with regard to rule of law, robust regulation and financial stability.”

Alex and his colleagues further underscored BC&C’s international outlook by stressing our membership of global legal services organisation Ally Law, which comprises some 80 independent law firms around the world. Such a network is given added importance when providing legal services to Mainland enterprises which are seeking to expand operations across global markets.

Backed by the Mainland authorities, the expo was also supported by the Hong Kong Bar Association, Law Society of Hong Kong, and our city’s Department of Justice.
