A warm welcome to Kristian Odebjer

Hong Kong, 2 January 2026: We are delighted to announce that experienced business law practitioner Kristian Odebjer has joined Boase Cohen & Collins as Consultant. With dual admissions as an Advokat in his native Sweden and as a Solicitor in Hong Kong, Kristian straddles the civil-common law divide and will help drive the firm’s cross-border practice.

“I look forward to offering my clients the full suite of services available via Boase Cohen & Collins. It is my conviction that the need for qualified legal advice in connection with international trade and investment related to Hong Kong is greater than ever,” says Kristian, who joins after 15 years as a Partner with Odebjer Fohlin Associates. He has also served as chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong since 2017.

Kristian has vast experience in corporate and commercial law, having advised numerous European clients on matters related to trade and investment in Hong Kong and mainland China. He spent several years in investment banking early in his career, and has a deep understanding of corporate finance and valuation issues.

In recent years, Kristian has increasingly focused on the “compliance dilemmas” companies face as they seek to abide by sometimes conflicting laws enacted by different jurisdictions in areas such as data compliance, cyber security, and supply chain transparency. He also takes an interest in export control and foreign investment screening.

Kristian is a non-executive director on the boards of several companies and organisations in Hong Kong. Having studied Chinese while at law school, meaning he is fluent in Putonghua, he originally relocated to Hong Kong in 1998 with a leading Swedish law firm.

Says BC&C Managing Partner Alex Liu: “Having known Kristian professionally for many years, we are thrilled to have him on board. With his considerable knowledge of international business, deep understanding of cross-border legal matters and extensive network, he will be a huge asset to our firm.”

40+ years of legal experience is just a click away.
