Colin Cohen shares insights at 7BR

London, 15 May 2025: Our Senior Partner Colin Cohen was pleased to give a talk about Hong Kong’s “New Legal Landscape” to a large audience at 7BR Barristers’ Chambers in London.

His presentation touched on politics, business and the rule of law, addressing key topics such as recent legislation and media perceptions about life in the city, as well as revealing the myriad opportunities that exist for overseas counsel. The talk was followed by a Q&A session moderated by Andrew Wheeler KC, head of 7BR’s Financial Crime Team, after which many guests stayed for refreshments.

Says Colin: “The message was that Hong Kong is very much open for business. Of course, there have been well-documented challenges, but our city is thriving. With world-class infrastructure, global financial expertise and a robust regulatory regime, Hong Kong is teeming with possibilities.

“My sincere thanks go to Andrew, chief executive Harry Charlton and their colleagues at 7BR for arranging the talk and being such wonderful hosts. We look forward to reciprocating when they next visit Hong Kong.”

Colin offered insights based on his vast experience in the highest levels of Hong Kong’s legal system. He has lived in the city since 1981 and co-founded Boase Cohen & Collins 40 years ago. 7BR, meanwhile, is an established and leading multi-disciplinary set of Barristers’ Chambers with national and international reach, working across a diverse group of practice areas from its state-of-the-art home at 7 Bedford Row.

40+ years of legal experience is just a click away.
