BC&C sets gold standard for pro bono work

Hong Kong, 7 December 2021: Boase Cohen & Collins’ long-standing commitment to helping society has been highlighted with a raft of awards in the Law Society of Hong Kong’s 2021 Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme.

Senior Partner Colin Cohen and Partners Alex Liu, Usha Casewell and Lisa Wong all received Gold Awards for completing more than 100 hours of pro bono or community work over the course of 12 months. Trainee Angie Liu earned a Silver Award while Partners Fiona Chan and Alice Cabrelli and Senior Associate Allison Lee each received Bronze.

Colin commented: “Since we were founded more than 36 years ago, pro bono work has been ingrained in the culture of our firm. We expect our lawyers to use their knowledge and experience for the good of the community, to make a genuine difference and to benefit those with an urgent legal need.

“In total, our legal team provided 983 hours of pro bono service in the year to a range of deserving individuals and organisations. It has been an excellent collective effort, particularly since Hong Kong continues to face significant challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
