Mediterranean meet-up a tonic for Ally Law

Hong Kong, 12 October 2021: After a two-year wait due to the global pandemic, Boase Cohen & Collins was delighted to attend an in-person gathering of Ally Law firms last week.

Partner Susan Cheung (pictured, second from left) represented the firm at the meet-up on the Greek island of Crete, joining attendees from Ally Law firms in France, UK, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Malta and the host nation.

“Travel obviously continues to be difficult for Asia Pacific members given the lockdown and quarantine measures in various countries but the situation has eased considerably in Europe,” said Susan, who is currently working out of London.

“While it was an informal couple of days, we did discuss ways to improve Ally Law and ideas for next year’s AGM. Most of all, however, it was a welcome opportunity to renew acquaintances after the frustrations caused by Covid-19.”

BC&C hosted Ally Law’s last Asia Pacific Regional Meeting in October 2019 before the onset of the pandemic, since when conferences have been held online. It is hoped firms in the region can get together again next year.

Ally Law is an international network of more than 70 independent law firms. It utilises close co-operation between members to help clients overcome their international legal and business challenges.
