BC&C student prize winner announced

Hong Kong, 9 September 2021: BC&C Partner Usha Casewell has praised the continuing excellence of the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Law after presenting the firm’s annual student prize.

The Boase Cohen & Collins Prize in Accounts and Financial Management was awarded to outstanding scholar Jackie Leung, who recently completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws. She received the highest combined marks in exam questions relating to financial statements and solicitor accounting.

“It is worth highlighting the huge contribution the Faculty of Law makes to Hong Kong’s legal profession and its continuing commitment to excellence in nurturing the next generation of lawyers. We offer our sincere congratulations to Jackie and wish her every success in her legal career,” said Mrs Casewell after attending the P.C.LL. Awards Presentation Ceremony at HKU’s Centennial Campus.

The prize is just one aspect of BC&C’s strong links with the Faculty of Law. The HKU-Boase Cohen & Collins Criminal Law Lecture is a major highlight of the academic calendar – with Lord Ken Macdonald QC due to the deliver the 2021 edition next week – and the firm is also a Senior Member of the HKU Charitable Foundation. Senior Partner Colin Cohen is a long-standing Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Professional Legal Education.

Mrs Casewell is pictured presenting the BC&C prize to a student representative who accepted it on behalf of the winner.
