Ally Law gains vital presence in Indonesia

Hong Kong, 6 August 2021: Colin Cohen has hailed Ally Law’s recruitment of a new member firm in Indonesia, saying it gives the global legal services organisation a vital presence in one of the world’s most important emerging markets. Nusantara Legal Partnership (NLP), based in Jakarta, is a boutique law firm with a focus on corporate matters and finance.

“We are delighted to welcome NLP to the Ally Law family and we look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship,” said Colin, Chairman of Ally Law’s Expansion Committee and Senior Partner of Boase Cohen & Collins.

“With almost 275 million residents, Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world and ranks 16th in terms of gross domestic product. Like all nations, it has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic but annual GDP growth is projected to resume at around 5% this year and next. It is a significant emerging economy and there is huge potential for referral business between NLP and other member firms.

“Despite the obvious challenges presented by Covid-19, Ally Law continues to grow. We recently added three new member firms in South America and one in Romania. Our focus for further expansion includes Asia and Africa. We have grown more than 30% in the past five years and I’m confident this trend will continue, especially as the world recovers from the pandemic.”

Established in 2018, NLP offers services across various legal sectors, including the following core practices: corporate and commercial law; mergers & acquisitions; foreign direct investment; employment; banking, finance & fintech; and technology, media & telecommunications. The firm also regularly advises diverse clientele from various business sectors such as pharmaceuticals, insurance and capital markets.

Ally Law is an international network of more than 70 independent law firms. It utilises close co-operation between members to help clients overcome their international legal and business challenges.

NLP founder Marshall Situmorang commented: “We are excited to be joining such a prestigious worldwide network. Ally Law’s high standards of experience, commitment and professionalism mirror our values. We look forward to serving clients at the highest levels around the world.”
