{"id":6349,"date":"2025-07-25T15:05:37","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T07:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.boasecohencollins.com\/?p=6349"},"modified":"2025-07-25T15:05:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T07:05:41","slug":"insurance-talk-focuses-on-taxi-fleets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boasecohencollins.com\/zh-hant\/%e6%96%b0%e8%81%9e\/insurance-talk-focuses-on-taxi-fleets\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurance talk focuses on taxi fleets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Hong Kong, 25 July 2025: <\/strong>Our Senior Associate Vivian Yu and Associate Joanna Chin examined the impact of Hong Kong\u2019s new taxi fleet regime on insurers in a talk to Bank of China Group Insurance Company executives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their presentation highlighted how the city\u2019s much-anticipated premium taxi service will not only shake up the personalised point-to-point transport industry, it has major implications for insurance companies who are tasked with providing enhanced coverage for operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe new regime brings amplified risks for fleet operators across a range of innovations including electric vehicles, wheelchair access, digital platforms and driver training. Insurers need to expand and adapt policies to reflect the increased regulatory and compliance demands on the industry,\u201d says Vivian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn this competitive environment, there are dynamic opportunities for insurers who are flexible in meeting market needs, but they need to be fully aware of the legal obligations. We were pleased to share our insights with our valued client BOCGI and we trust the attendees found the presentation useful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The talk was supervised by BC&amp;C Partner Jeffrey Chan, who leads the firm\u2019s Insurance and Personal Injury team. His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boasecohencollins.com\/zh-hant\/%e7%b6%b2%e8%aa%8c\/taxi-fleets-implications-for-insurers\/\">recent in-depth article<\/a>, \u201cTaxi fleets: implications for insurers\u201d, was circulated to the insurance sector and widely welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hong Kong launched its much-awaited premium taxi service earlier this month, with SynCab becoming the first operator to receive a full licence. It is one of five providers selected by authorities to operate the fleets, alongside Joie, Big Boss Taxi Company, CMG Fleet Management and Sino Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities in March said the city aimed to roll out 3,500 premium taxis. All fleets must offer online hailing services, customer hotlines and electronic payment methods. They are part of a government push to raise standards in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here at BC&amp;C, we have a burgeoning Insurance and Personal Injury team and we act as panel solicitors for several major insurance companies.
