Tokyo meeting reaffirms regional links

Hong Kong, 5 December 2023: Ally Law’s latest Asia Pacific Regional Meeting has strengthened ties between law firms and underscored the global legal services organisation’s growing presence across the region, says BC&C Managing Partner Alex Liu.

The gathering in Tokyo attracted delegates from some 15 firms – spanning the continent from India to New Zealand – and more than 30 clients, making it Ally Law’s largest meeting in the region to date. Delegates heard panel discussions on a range of legal and business topics while enjoying social activities and networking opportunities.

“It was a productive meeting that has paved the way for closer co-operation between member firms, thus allowing us to provide seamless and cost-effective legal services to clients with interests across the region,” says Alex, who attended with BC&C Associate Claire Chow and Paralegal Cherie Kwan.

“As well, it was an opportunity for us to emphasise Hong Kong’s judicial independence and strong adherence to the rule of law. Ally Law firms throughout the world can have confidence in our city’s ongoing status as a world-class financial and business hub underpinned by a robust legal framework.”

The meeting, hosted by Tokyo firm Blakemore and Mitsuki, came on the heels of Ally Law’s Europe, Middle East and Africa meeting in Milan last month and, before that, the Americas meeting in Columbus, Ohio. The organisation’s AGM will be held in Vancouver next May 15.
