BC&C maintains support for young scholars

Hong Kong, 3 September 2019: Colin Cohen has hailed Boase Cohen & Collins’ continuing support for the next generation of lawyers after presenting the firm’s annual student prize at the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Law.

The BC&C Prize in Accounts and Financial Management was awarded to outstanding scholar Cheung Ting San for his excellent work while studying for his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws.

“We are delighted to maintain our proud record of recognising academic achievement and our congratulations go to Ting San who, we are sure, is destined for a successful career in the legal profession,” said Colin.

“This prize is just one of a number of ways we support young scholars. We are also a Senior Member of the HKU Charitable Foundation and, in addition, we sponsor a law prize with the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As well, our Trainee Solicitor recruitment programme continues to go from strength to strength, further underscoring our commitment to nurturing legal talent.”

Colin made his comments while attending the HKU Faculty of Law’s P.C.LL. Opening Ceremony, which marked the start of this year’s programme while highlighting the achievements of students who have completed the course.

Guests were welcomed by Professor Fu Hualing, Dean of the Faculty of Law, after which there were speeches from CM Chan, Vice President of the Law Society of Hong Kong, and Philip Dykes SC, Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association. A vote of thanks was given by Wilson Chow, Head of the Faculty’s Department of Professional Legal Education.
