Delegates drawn to St Petersburg conference

Hong Kong, 10 May 2019: Boase Cohen & Collins’ growing business links with the Russian Federation will be underscored when Senior Partner Colin Cohen attends the St Petersburg International Legal Forum next week.

First held in 2011, the Forum has emerged as one of the foremost international platforms for discussing a broad range of questions confronting the global legal community. It is expected to attract more than 4,500 delegates from around 90 countries.

“Russian law is modernising quickly in accordance with the best international legal practices and in compliance with accepted standards for protecting the rights of foreign investors and copyright holders. It is against this background that the Forum has quickly developed as a major annual event for legal professionals from all jurisdictions,” said Mr Cohen.

“It features well over 100 different business events, including discussion panels, presentations, working breakfasts and lunches, and cocktail receptions, plus a varied cultural programme and visitor tours, all of which offer innumerable networking opportunities. As such, it is a must-attend conference for any law firm with Russia-related work.”

The St Petersburg International Legal Forum will be held from 14-18 May at the city’s iconic General Staff building, formerly the administrative centre of the old Russian Empire. It is one of a cluster of historic buildings, including the Winter Palace, which form the huge State Hermitage museum.

Speakers at the Forum will include Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
