Four new trainees enhance BC&C legal team

Hong Kong, 5 September 2018: Four new trainee solicitors – April Kong, Joyce Leung, Hugo Sze-To and Vivian Yu – have been appointed by Boase Cohen & Collins as the firm further expands its legal team.

April earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology (Biomedical Science) from York University in Canada before studying for her Juris Doctor – a law degree for graduates from a non-law discipline – at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she also earned her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws.

Joyce arrives at BC&C having completed her Master of Laws with King’s College London. Previously, she collected her law degree and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong, during which time she also attended the University of Nottingham in the UK as an exchange student.

Hugo collected his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Studies and Politics and Public Administration, from the University of Hong Kong. He earned his Juris Doctor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the same establishment.

Vivian is no stranger to Boase Cohen & Collins, having been with the firm since September 2017 as a Paralegal while she studied for her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the University of Hong Kong, where she had also earned her Master of Laws. Previously, she completed her law degree at the University of Sussex in the UK.

Welcoming the group to BC&C, Senior Partner Colin Cohen commented: “At Boase Cohen & Collins, we have a proven track record for promoting local talent and providing young lawyers with a definitive career path. We are particularly proud of the fact that more than half our current Partners began their legal careers with our firm.

“April, Joyce, Hugo and Vivian not only have strong academic backgrounds, they possess the people skills and commitment to excellence to be outstanding legal professionals. We are delighted to have them on board and we are confident they are each embarking on a long and productive career in the legal profession.”
