Ally Law adds Taiwan to its Asia Pacific footprint

Hong Kong, 25 July 2018: Global legal services organisation Ally Law is continuing its rapid expansion in Asia Pacific with the addition of another firm, this time in Taiwan.

Taipei-based Formosan Brothers was formed 21 years ago and has grown to comprise more than 50 lawyers. It offers a full range of legal services to a client base that includes publicly-listed domestic and international companies, Fortune 500 organisations, investment and commercial banks and a range of small to medium-sized companies in various industries.

Boase Cohen & Collins Senior Partner Colin Cohen hailed the development as further proof of Ally Law’s commitment towards a greater presence in the region and said it was excellent news for all member firms.

“Recruiting more firms in Asia Pacific has been a priority since I took over chairmanship of Ally Law’s Expansion Committee some 14 months ago. In welcoming Formosan Brothers to our organisation, it should be noted they are the third new firm from the region to join us this year, following Legisperitus Lawyers in Indonesia and Hankyul Law Group in South Korea,” said Mr Cohen.

“With 4.2 billion people, accounting for some 60 per cent of the world’s population, rapidly emerging economies and immense natural resources, Asia Pacific is vitally important to all global organisations, including Ally Law, and our members stand to benefit from our expansion in this region. We will continue to explore new jurisdictions and add more firms while maintaining rigorous client service standards.”

Formosan Brothers is the sixth new member of Ally Law in 2018. Apart from the Indonesian and South Korean firms, the organisation has welcomed firms from Portugal, Luxembourg and Brazil.

Boase Cohen & Collins is Hong Kong’s sole representative in Ally Law, which utilises close co-operation between members to help clients overcome their international legal and business challenges. The organisation comprises almost 70 firms in more than 40 jurisdictions.
