Ally Law welcomes new firm in Indonesia

Hong Kong, 23 February 2018: Global legal services organisation Ally Law has expanded its worldwide coverage with the addition of a new member in Indonesia. Legisperitus Lawyers, established in 2013, is a full-service law firm based in Jakarta.

“We are delighted to welcome this firm in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies to our network,” commented Colin Cohen, Chairman of Ally Law’s Expansion Committee and Senior Partner in Boase Cohen & Collins.

“Having visited the offices of Legisperitus Lawyers last December and met with their senior people, I’m confident they will be an excellent addition to Ally Law. With a population of 266 million, Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world and, as a member of the G20, is an emerging economic powerhouse.

“This development is also excellent news for our clients at Boase Cohen & Collins given the rapidly increasing business ties between our two jurisdictions. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council opened an office in Jakarta in 2015 and the Hong Kong Government set up its Economic and Trade Office in the city the following year.

“Before these two important steps, the Indonesia-Hong Kong Business Association was established in 2014 to promote trade, business and investment. Further, Indonesia stands to be the biggest beneficiary of China's Belt and Road Initiative in Southeast Asia. In the light of all this progress, we expect to be co-operating closely with Legisperitus Lawyers across a range of practice areas.”

Boase Cohen & Collins is Hong Kong’s sole representative in Ally Law, which utilises close co-operation between members to help clients overcome their international legal and business challenges. The organisation comprises more than 60 firms in over 40 jurisdictions.
