Lisa Wong and Fiona Chan attend LAWASIA Conference

Hong Kong, 26 September 2017: Boase Cohen & Collins Partners Lisa Wong and Fiona Chan represented the firm at last week’s annual LAWASIA Conference in Tokyo.

The gathering is LAWASIA's flagship event bringing together bar leaders, corporate members and individual lawyers from Asia Pacific to discuss developments, hot topics and trends in law across the region.

“It was a well organised conference with a packed programme of panel discussions, presentations, networking sessions and working lunches. Almost all aspects of the legal profession were covered including core practice areas such as Criminal Law, Family Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Business Law and Human Rights,” said Ms Wong.

Guest speakers at the 18-21 September event held at Tokyo’s Hotel New Otani included Geoffrey Ma, Chief Justice of Hong Kong’s Court of Final Appeal, who took part in a highlight session focusing on independence of the judiciary and rule of law.

Ms Chan added: “It was a hugely worthwhile conference both in terms of topics covered and the networking opportunities it afforded. By attending such events, we are able to offer enhanced services and advice to our clients at Boase Cohen & Collins.”

LAWASIA, founded in 1966, is an international organisation of lawyers’ associations, individual lawyers, judges, legal academics and others who focus on the interests and concerns of the legal profession in the Asia Pacific region.

While in Tokyo, Ms Wong and Ms Chan also found time for a business dinner with lawyers from Blakemore & Mitsuki which, like BC&C, is a member of Ally Law, the global legal services referral organisation.
