BC&C lawyers attend world’s top IP conference

Hong Kong, 2 June 2017: Boase Cohen & Collins remains committed to offering clients the most up-to-date advice on global brand, trademark and intellectual property law after attending the industry’s major annual conference.

BC&C Partner Susan Cheung and Assistant Solicitor Allison Lee were among the record 10,600-plus delegates who flocked to the 139th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) in Barcelona.

Organisers laid on a packed five-day programme at the city’s Fira Gran Via Convention Centre that included more than 300 educational sessions, over 100 committee meetings and 30-plus networking events as well as an opening ceremony and welcome reception.

“Brands are becoming increasingly important to consumers, corporations and the global economy, and staying abreast of trademark and IP developments in today’s fast-evolving digital era is a challenge for every legal professional,” commented Ms Cheung, whose core practice areas include intellectual property.

“The INTA Annual Meeting brings together brand management, trademark and other IP professionals to discuss every conceivable topic relating to the industry. Attendance is essential for any law firm wishing to stay up-to-date in this complex legal field.

“Besides the countless workshops, lectures and seminars, the Barcelona event also offered outstanding networking opportunities, allowing Boase Cohen & Collins to stay connected with the industry’s top minds and practitioners. It was a hugely worthwhile business trip.”

INTA is the global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce. INTA’s members include more than 7,000 organisations from 190 countries.
